Jimin BTS and Jisoo Blackpink compete for top-selling solo artist accolades in the first half of 2023

In the top 10 ranking of best-selling solo K-pop artists with albums in the first half of 2023, Jimin BTS and Jisoo Blackpink vie for the top spot.

The K-pop industry continues to thrive as talented solo artists captivate audiences with their unique vocals and captivating performances on stage. As the midpoint of 2023 has passed, Korean media has compiled data on the best-selling albums released by solo K-pop artists in recent times.

Among them, many top K-pop idols released their solo albums earlier this year, breaking records by selling millions of copies.

The album sales of the top 10 K-pop artists in the first half of 2023 witnessed intense competition between Jimin BTS and Jisoo Blackpink. Ultimately, Jimin tops the charts, selling over 1,692,436 copies.

Meanwhile, Blackpink’s eldest member, Jisoo, impressively sold 1,452,467 copies in a short period. It is worth noting that Jisoo is also the highest-ranking female solo K-pop artist in this chart.

The rankings for the 10 positions are as follows:

1st place – Jimin of BTS: 1,692,436 copies.

2nd place – Jisoo of Blackpink: 1,452,467 copies.

3rd place – Suga of BTS: 1,332,087 copies.

4th place – Lee Chan Won: 587,344 copies.

5th place – NCT Taeyong: 494,249 copies.

6th place – Kai of EXO: 247,800 copies.

7th place – Kang Daniel: 149,455 copies.

8th place – Onew of SHINee: 139,289 copies.

9th place – Choi Ye Na: 124,490 copies.

10th place – Key of SHINee: 121,412 copies.
